Business Chambers from all over the Visayas will once again converge for the 29th Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) 2020 on August 27 and 28 via Zoom, focusing on the prioritization of innovation as the key to unlocking post crisis growth.
Posed as a key conference in the region, the 29th VABC is organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in coordination with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).
The annual project brings together business leaders and influencers from all over the Visayas to tackle pertinent trends, issues and ideas. Bannering this year’s theme, Innovation during the Pandemic, the conference hopes to lay a foundation that will create a strong, sustained and socially inclusive response through technological advancement and governance innovation to keep the local economy afloat, amidst the current challenges.
Promising a vibrant virtual encounter to it participants, the 2-day conference features top-tier speakers such as NEDA Acting Secretary Hon. Karl Kendrick Chua, USAID Respond Chief of Party Dr. Enrico Basilio, DA Secretary Hon. William Dar, DOT Secretary Hon. Bernadette Puyat, and ARTA General Director Atty. Jerimiah Belgica.
The event will cover topics on the regional economic situation, supply chain issues and initiatives, agriculture and food security, the DOT game plan, and the ease of doing business.
DOF (TBC) ASEC. Antonio Joselito Lambino II will spearhead the opening of the Sulong Pilipinas: Partners for Progress on August 27, an online consultation workshop between the government and PCCI members in Visayas.
Since 2016, Sulong has been an annual consultative conference between the Duterte administration and various citizen groups, serving as a platform for the government to consult stakeholders on socio-economic priorities. The top recommendations of the workshops are submitted to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his Cabinet. Pre-registration for Sulong is required.
