The members and friends of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) actively responded to the Mandaue City barangay frontliners’ call for help by donating additional supplies of protective equipment.
The barangay frontliners sounded the alarm as their resources depleted over the past months of quarantine.
MCCI was able to collect 300 pieces of KN95 masks, 28,300 pieces of surgical masks, 177 gallons of ethyl alcohol, 2,550 pieces of face shields, 1,113 pieces of PPEs, 20 pieces of medical grade seam sealed coverall PPEs, 6,000 pieces of gloves, and a total of Php 118,000 cash donations which was entirely used to purchase additional PPEs.
The donations were turned over to the 27 barangays last September 4, 2020, in front of the Mandaue Presidencia, in the presence of Mayor Jonas Cortes, Liga ng mga Barangay President Ernie Manatad, and MCCI Board of Trustees headed by President Steven Yu.
To be turned over to the hospitals are the following items: 3 aerosol boxes, 20 pieces of medical grade seam sealed coverall PPEs, and 10 UV lights.
