Virtual Tour Highlights Advocacy for Philippine Cacao

The Chocolate Chamber Academy brings back the second time around their Beyond Chocolate Virtual Tour at The Chocolate Chamber Boutique in Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa Cebu on October 17 (Saturday) at 11am via Zoom in partnership with Southwind Travel & Tours.

The Chocolate Chamber Founder and President Raquel T. Choa, Spiller of the Beans & Philippine Chocolate sommelier in training Hannah T. Choa , and cacao educator Edu T. Pantino will be sharing their vision and advocacy for Philippine cacao…Chocolates from the Land, to the Brand… to Life.

The virtual tour will start from the Cacao Garden of Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa which The Chocolate Chamber planted the cacao trees four years ago. Just recently, the FCCT farmers put natural fertilizers in the cacao trees where these fertilizers will also be showcased during the activity. Virtual tourist will get the chance to see the roasting area as Hannah will talk about the evolution of the cacao beans and how cacao beans are harvested, dried, roasted, and pounded into fine cacao powder before being molded into pure chocolate goodness.

The Chocolate Queen Raquel Choa with The Chocolate Princess Hannah Choa at the Cacao Garden

After the Cacao Garden tour, Philippine Chocolate Sommelier apprentice Hannah Choa will take the virtual tourists at The Chocolate Chamber Boutique of Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa which was designed like the Palace of Maria Cacao in Raquel’s childhood imagination from the stories told to her by her Lola. Hannah will talk about the Wonders of Tablea and will demonstrate on how to make TCC Spanish hot choco the good way using the Tablea Roll which is the featured recipe using premium ingredients made from Philippine cacao beans. Guests will get the chance to watch a short video clip on the Legend of Maria Cacao as well.

TCC’s Managing Partner Edu Pantino will also share his knowledge and insights on cacao in their goal to bridge the cacao stakeholders and to sustain the cacao value chain.

The special part of the Beyond Chocolate Virtual Tour is the virtual audience with the ‘Chocolate Queen’ Raquel Choa where she will entertain questions from guests pertaining to cacao and chocolate especially those who have cherished and loved chocolate through The Chocolate Chamber and to those who are yet to partake in the experience. Raquel’s passion and curiosity for chocolate gave birth to The Chocolate Chamber.

The Founder’s Corner at The Chocolate Chamber Boutique in Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa

A minimal fee of Php 550 will be charged per participant, who then gets to receive The Chocolate Chamber Natural Fertilizer, cacao seedling, and a featured product of TCC which is the Tablea Roll.
