Warmly welcomed by Bantayan Mayor Art Despi, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) Board of Officers, Members and Staff together with the AFOS Foundation took part in the Bantayan’s celebration of the Filipino Food month featuring the FISH AND FOOD FAIR last April 15-16, 2021.
CCCI with the support of AFOS FOUNDATION organized a delegation for a 2-day LEARNING & EXPOSURE VISIT to Bantayan which aims to provide 1.) First-hand knowledge and exposure to the Bantayan as FISH Visayas Cebu project site, actors and ongoing activities; 2.) Business to Business matching between CCCI member companies and the MSMEs/fishers in Bantayan including Bantayan Island Chapter; and 3.) Business interacts with Government between CCCI and Bantayan LGU to get first-hand information on the investment and development potentials of various industries in Bantayan.
Highlights of the visit were the FISH and FOOD FAIR with a wide array of display and sale of the Bantayan’s aqua & agri products in the beautiful sunset strip @ the Boulevard, various preparations from fresh, processed dried/smoked/pickled, traditional cooking and fusion cooking by the Chef, Omagieca Obo-ob Mangrove Garden and Ecopark (ECO-TOURISM), Women of Basawon WAB Livelihood Centre (CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE TOURISM), St. Peter and Paul Church (FAITH TOURISM), dried fish at Sulangan and shellfish at Guiwanon (ECONOMIC DRIVERS).
