The global pandemic did not hamper certain organizations from reaching out and touching lives. That is the case for international boutique outsourced business service provider TDCX, as it continues to uphold its strong commitment to bring life-enhancing benefits for its employees and the local communities in these challenging times.
With the drive to create a progressive societal effect, the company redefined its global corporate social responsibility program – focusing on workplace culture, community outreach efforts, and a greener lifestyle. Now streamlined and goal-oriented, its three main pillars and respective core areas reflect the company’s ethos and are aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Check out how TDCX, considered one of the best BPO companies to work for in the Philippines, continues to champion positive and transformative impact for the last six months:
#BeHappier environment empowers people
TDCX believes that employee satisfaction drives customer success. Its people-oriented corporate culture puts a premium on the importance of employee relations by providing a unique BPO experience that is fun, inclusive, and rewarding.
With 80% of its staff still working from home, #BeHappier strives to empower TDCX employees through a variety of online engagement activities that underscore learning & development, diversity & inclusion, and wellness & safety.
Back in February, TDCX Philippines organized a two-day interactive kick-off event to celebrate the start of a new year. Under the theme “Padayon”, employees showcased their unique talents in singing and dancing, played family-friendly games, and recognized the contributions of outstanding individuals in the organization. The party ended with a bang as everyone enjoyed an online jam session with alternative rock act Parokya ni Edgar.
#BeKinder efforts to uplift communities
More than the health risks associated with COVID-19, lockdown measures such as social distancing, self-isolation, and travel restrictions have adverse effects on mental health and the country’s socioeconomics.
As a way of helping individuals and communities bounce back, TDCX extends the same amount of care for their employees with meaningful work for underprivileged children and families, differently-abled individuals, and senior citizens. They collaborate with local and international non-government organizations to serve and support these underserved groups and communities affected by the pandemic.
During the first quarter of 2021, TDCX Philippines conducted a community feeding program in partnership with SimplyShare Foundation to address malnutrition in the children and youth of Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City, Cebu. Through Caritas Manila’s Hapag-Asa (Table for Hope) Program, they were able to send boxes of food supplies to support under-resourced individuals in Calauan, Laguna. TDCX Philippines also donated school and art supplies to Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home in Pasig City.
#BeGreener for a more sustainable future
Remote work may have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions and fuel usage associated with running offices and daily commutes but is replaced by our growing digital carbon footprint. Every post, search, video streaming, online meeting, use of cloud storage, and downloads cumulatively contribute to CO2 emissions as it triggers demand for more electricity to power data centers and to support data transmission.
As a trusted digital economy enabler to high-growth brands with a presence in 10 countries, TDCX recognizes its business impact on the environment. That is why, during this pandemic, they have stepped up their efforts in achieving a long-term goal – to be carbon neutral this decade.
In line with this, the company started a campaign to educate people and increase awareness about how we can decrease our CO2 emissions in an increasingly digital world. For instance, TDCX Philippines hosted its first #BeGreener Talk focused on reducing one’s carbon footprint at home.
The company also advocates for water conservation, recycling, using eco-friendly products, banning single-use plastics, and overall environmental preservation. Despite the constraints of the pandemic, TDCX launched various campaigns globally in support of these causes. At TDCX Thailand, for example, their local team launched Save the World, a campaign banning single-use items and promoting proper trash classification in the office.
“This is such an unprecedented time but this is also a time for stronger relationships, for better community engagement, to care for the environment, and to pursue educational opportunities on the importance of giving back through the company’s CSR programs,” said TDCX CSR Champion Rhinnon Pamintuan.
