A one-day online Tourism Summit, one of CBMs virtual activities will kick-off this June 24, 2021 via Zoom from 2:00-5:00 PM that will bring together key players from across private and public entities throughout the travel and tourism sectors with a common call-to-action to R.I.S.E. (Rediscover. Invite. Support. Engage) and move FORWARD towards accelerating the industry’s recovery.
CBM 2021 is highlighting local tourist products and destinations not just in preparation for the return of our foreign tourists but also to encourage Cebuanos to explore our own local attractions right in our own backyards.
Department of Tourism Secretary Hon. Bernadette Romulo Puyat will be the Keynote Speaker while Hon. Christina G. Frasco, Mayor of the Municipality of Liloan and President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (Cebu), will deliver an Inspirational Message during the Summit. DOT Region 7 Dir. Shahlimar H. Tamano will present a Situationer Report for Cebu 2021 and What to Expect for 2022.
Other invited speakers are the following: Mr. Alexander “Xander” G. Lao, Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific Air who will discuss about The Future of Philippine Travel; Dr. Bryan Albert Lim, Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases Specialist will talk about Building Pandemic – Resilient Tourism Sector; Mr. Ryan Tan Yu, CEO of Mataverse will share a Tech Update: The 360 Virtual Tours Experience; Ms. Maria Lester “Marti” Ybanez, Provincial Tourism Officer in the Province of Cebu will present the Tourism Portal; and 5th District of Cebu Provincial Board Member Hon. Andrei “Red” Duterte will talk about Building More Resilient, Sustainable Tourism.
Meanwhile, Ms. Cindi K. Chan, Chairman of Lapulapu City Tourism Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission, EVO Nature Camp owner Mr. Edwin Ortiz and Mr. Christian C. Tiongko, COO of Danasan Eco-Adventure Camp will act as panelists who will also share their success stories on Tourism Experience Enhancement.
