The Alpha Kappa Rho International Skeptron Alumni of Cebu-Eastย is holding aย one-day Medical Optical Mission, Free Legal Aid consultation and Gift-giving program in cooperation with Cordova Grand Council today, March 26, 2022ย at Gabi Evacuation Centerย Cordova Cebu.
This project is headed by SAC Over all Chairman Omar Sasing, SAC east Organizer Wash Yap and Corodova Grand Council chairman Lexfer Baguio.
According toย Yap that the event was supposedly last December 18 but because of typhoon Odette they moved it this Saturday which will serve as their 7th year in providing medical opticalย assistanceย as well as gift-giving.
This year, they added aย Free Legal Aid by theย Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)- Cebu City Chapter led by Atty. Grace Hermosa Casano.
โSAC-East is targeting a total ofย 490 beneficiaries both from the optical and medical mission.ย For the Medical assistance, 120 adults and 120 Pediatrics concern while 250 for the optical assistance. With this yearโs new additional service,ย they are serving up toย 200 beneficiaries for the free legal aid consultation,โ said Yap.
Yap added that this yearโs recipients for their gift-giving project are the 100 pupils from the Cogon Elementary school.
โWe are distributing 100 bags to the 100 pupils from the Cogon ES. I believe this is timely since the face the face classes might resume soon,โ said Yap.
Last 2020, despite the height of the pandemic, they were able to organize one medical mission in Barangay. Caubian in Lapu-Lapu City with 300 beneficiaries, 150 from the medical assistance and 150 adult from the Optical assistance while in 2021 they were able to have a Medical & Optical Mission in Brgy. Tejero, Cebu City with the sameย number ofย beneficiaries.
