PBBM LAID OUT PRIORITY PROGRAMS

In his first State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. laid out the priority programs and plans of his administration that must be taken in the next few years.

ECONOMY: Craft Philippine Development Plan for 2023 to 2028 that reflects the governmentโ€™s socioeconomic policies, strategies, and programs.

AGRICULTURE: Increase food production, address food crisis, provide aid to farmers, establish farm-to-market roads, and modernize the agricultural sector.

AGRARIAN REFORM: Pass a law that condones the existing agrarian reform loan that will help around 654,000 beneficiaries.

DSWD: Strategic distribution of relief goods, continuation of 4Ps program, and strengthening the rights of solo parents.

HEALTH: Affordable medicines for ordinary people and the establishment of easy-to-reach hospitals and health centers for Filipinos living in far-flung rural areas.

EDUCATION: Develop and refine Filipino studentsโ€™ performance in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

DIGITALIZATION: Prioritize faster distribution of National IDs and connect the country digitally.

INFRASTRUCTURE: Continue the โ€œBuild, Build, Buildโ€ infrastructure program with a new focus on developing the countryโ€™s railway system.

ENERGY: Build new power plants, use renewable energy, and bring down the price of electricity for consumers.

CLIMATE: Look for new energy resources and promote the use of renewable energy to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change on the country.

MIGRANT WORKERS: Prioritize the automation of the verification of contracts and issue secure Overseas Employment Certification (OEC) OFWโ€™s can keep on their smartphone.

TOURISM: Boost tourism by developing our roads, airports, and tourist destinations.

FOREIGN POLICY: Promote โ€œstrong and more multifacetedโ€ relationships with other countries and assure that Philippinesโ€™ foreign policy would be based only on the countryโ€™s national interest.
