The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) is moving the implementation of its cashless and contactless toll collection to allow more motorists to get their RFID tags on their vehicles and reload their RFID accounts.

CCLEC will announce its full electronic toll collection implementation on a new schedule.

โ€œWe want to address the strong clamor of many motorists to continue to allow them to pass CCLEX while they are complying with our RFID registration and installation. This is also to prevent long queues of motorists in our Customer Service Centers who might be in a rush to get the RFID stickers,โ€ said Cebu Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEC) President and General Manager Allan Alfon.

CCLEC earlier announced that it will implement its full electronic toll collection system on October 1.

โ€œOur CCLEX is designed to operate as an all-electronic toll collection system for faster and seamless experience when using our modern expressway. This full RFID system is also for the safety of our motorists. We would like to appeal to everyone to get their CCLEX RFIDs now for faster and seamless CCLEX drive,โ€ Alfon added.

CCLEC started the free installation of CCLEX RFIDs as early as December 2021. It now has registrations of more than 90,000.

MPT Mobility, the digital innovation arm of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), developed the MPT DriveHub app that CCLEX users can use to load and reload their RFID accounts.

With MPT DriveHub, motorists can easily register or link their RFID account by simply scanning their CCLEX Card QR Code or inputting their CCLEX Card Number, or registering via email.

The MPT DriveHub not only simplifies the reloading of the account, but also allows motorists to monitor in real time their RFID load. The app also allows motorists to load their accounts using credit and debit cards as well as through e-money services like Maya and GCash.

Motorists who prefer to load their RFID accounts via cash can also visit the CCLEX Customer Service Centers (CSC) conveniently located on both sides of the expressway near the Toll Plaza. At the CCLEX Customer Service Centers, motorists can also reload via debit card, credit card, Maya, and GCash.

Motorists can also have their CCLEX RFID installed at the CSC. Walk-ins are accepted but for faster transactions, motorists can register ahead through cclex.com.ph and just present their registration QR Code to the installer. The installation of RFID tags on vehicles is for free.

CCLEX, an engineering feat and Cebuโ€™s newest iconic landmark, is seen to not only ease traffic congestion in the metro but also spark socio-economic development in the province, according to a study by the University of San Carlos.

CCLEX, now considered the tallest and highest bridgeway structure in the country, is a project of CCLEC, in partnership with the local government units of Cebu City and Municipality of Cordova.

CCLEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of MPTC, the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), a publicly-listed infrastructure holding company and a member of the MVP Group of Companies.

MPTC is the largest toll road concessionaire and operator in the Philippines. The companyโ€™s expansion goals include establishing toll operations in the Visayas, other parts of the Philippines, and in neighboring countries, notably Vietnam, and Indonesia.
