SEN. MARCOS HANDS OVER LAND CERTIFICATES TO FARMERS, CASH AID TO PEDICAB DRIVERS IN EASTERN VISAYAS

More than 550 farmers received Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) through Senator Imee Marcos during her January 26 trip to the Eastern Visayas region.

During the awarding ceremony, Marcos called on the region’s farmers to help the government increase food production towards gaining food sufficiency for the next generation.

The senator also urged the Department of Agriculture and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to help local farmers acquire more farm equipment and input like fertilizers.

Present during the ceremony were DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Leyte officials including Governor Jericho “Icot” Petilla, Mayor Erwin Ocana of Tolosa, Cong. Jude Acidre of party list Tingog, and Eastern Samar officials.

Besides the distribution of CLOAs, Sen. Marcos also handed over cash aid to 500 pedicab drivers in Palo, Leyte, from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
