Diners at Cafรฉ Marco will discover a new twist this weekend, when Korean guest chef Choi Hwang Min presents MASHITA! The Marco Poloโs latest culinary expedition.
For a limited engagement from 25 to 27 August, the lunch and dinner buffets will feature the many delights of his native Korean cuisine – fresh ingredients, healthful cooking techniques and the intricate balance of bold and delicate, sweet and savory flavors.
With over 46 years of experience, Chef Choiโs culinary skills were honed in various Korean and Chinese restaurants in Gyeonggi-do Suwon in Seoul. His expertise is in traditional dishes dating back to the Qing Dynasty, an era when the Chinese influence in cooking evolved in Asian cultures, paving the way for Koreaโs kitchens to develop their own distinctive culinary tradition.
Korean for โdeliciousโ, this weekendโs MASHITA! Promises to be a cultural dining experience, replete with home-made dumplings, hand-pulled noodles and many other dishes crafted by hand and using traditional cooking techniques. Chef Choiโs Palbochae, or 8-treasures seafood stir-fried with vegetables and Tangsuyuk, pork coated in crisp potato starch with a sweet and tangy sauce, are easily crowd favorites. Perfect for the cool rainy season are traditional jjampong, a well-loved spicy seafood soup or the warm, hearty, spicy and savory kimchi jjigae, among others.
The buffets are priced at PHP 1500 for lunch and PHP 1800 for dinner. Sunday brunch and dinner on 27 August is at PHP 1800 per person. On Fridays, 25 August, lunch and dinner groups enjoy the 4+1 Foodie Friday offer, where for every four paying foodie the fifth one dines for free. On all dates, children under 12 years receive a 50% discount.
