Ronald Roda is an experienced tech leader with over two decades of experience in the technology, management consulting, telco, and transportation sectors. His tenure at Grab Philippines since 2018 reflects a deep commitment to innovation, growth, and the economic empowerment of Filipinos.

Ronald’s journey with Grab began as Head of GrabCar, where he played a critical role in solidifying Grab’s leadership in the Philippine ride-hailing industry. His strategic leadership was particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic when the GrabCar business was temporarily shut down. Ronald led the revitalization of GrabCar, transforming it into a more reliable and affordable service in the post-pandemic landscape.

Under Ronald’s leadership, Grab’s footprint in the Philippines expanded significantly. Between 2020 and 2024, he oversaw the growth of Grab’s services from 8 cities to over 200 cities and communities nationwide, vastly improving access to Grab’s offerings for millions of Filipinos. His growth strategy extended beyond geographical expansion; Ronald also accelerated the growth of Grab’s driver-, delivery-, and rider-partner fleet, setting an ambitious goal of creating 500,000 livelihood opportunities over the next five years.

As the newly appointed Country Head of Grab Philippines, Ronald is poised to continue leading innovation and expansion. His vision for the future includes advancing digitalization efforts in cities and communities beyond Metro Manila, ensuring that Grab remains a vital partner for growth across the nation.

Before joining Grab, Ronald held key leadership roles at prominent companies such as Indosat (Indonesia), Accenture (ASEAN), and Globe Telecom where he consistently drove strategic initiatives and business growth.
