The administration-backed Senate slate, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, pledges to strengthen Cebu’s manufacturing, digital economy, and export sectors while tackling urban challenges like traffic congestion and water security.
The Alyansa ticket is composed of former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Imee Marcos, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager, highlighted Cebu’s key role in the Visayas economy.
“Cebu has long been a hub for trade, manufacturing, and digital innovation. Alyansa is committed to policies that strengthen these industries while addressing infrastructure challenges,” Tiangco said.
Alyansa aims to expand Cebu’s digital infrastructure to support its growing information technology (IT) and business process management sector.
The coalition also plans to improve Cebu’s transportation system to ease traffic congestion and enhance mobility.
Education is another priority, with Alyansa pushing for stronger institutions that produce skilled graduates, especially in Cebu’s key industries like maritime and information technology.
The coalition also supports preserving Cebu’s cultural heritage, recognizing its importance to tourism and local identity.
“As Cebu grows as a major economic hub, Alyansa will ensure development balances economic progress with cultural preservation,” Tiangco said.
Alyansa is committed to working with Cebuanos to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth for future generations.
