As part of the organization’s continued commitment to cultivating world-class Filipino talent, EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) Philippines is expanding its Tech Consulting and Cybersecurity capabilities by strengthening campus initiatives in Cebu, creating opportunities for young Cebuano professionals to develop future-ready skills.
EY GDS aims to share how the organization bridges the gap between academe and industry, providing fresh graduates and young professionals with the right skills, tools and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
At the same time, EY GDS is not only strengthening its capabilities but also contributing to the Philippines’ position as a global tech talent hub.
During the media roundtable discussion, the attendees gain first-hand perspectives from EY GDS Philippines Consulting Leader Mr. Raymond Go and Ms. Maez De Guzman, Cybersecurity Leader of EY GDS Philippines, reinforcing Cebu’s growing role in the digital economy and shedding light on how young professionals can thrive in consulting and cybersecurity through EY’s initiatives.
Mr. Go discussed the growth of EY GDS’ Consulting team, the increasing demand for future-focused skill sets and how campus initiatives are equipping fresh graduates with the necessary expertise to thrive in technology consulting.
“We attract talents even if they don’t have the experience yet, we’ve done a lot of campus hiring in Cebu. We continue to develop them through comprehensive programs like bootcamps, theoretical training, through mentoring from experts who will teach them the ropes, and through actual experience”, Mr. Go said.
Ms. De Guzman also provides insights into the global and local cybersecurity trends, the industry’s talent gap and her advocacy for Women in Tech, emphasizing the importance of inclusive talent development.
“We have schools that are now offering Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Elective courses as well in Cybersecurity in Manila and hopefully in Cebu”, Ms. De Guzman said.
