Administration-backed senatorial candidates from Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas envision a stronger economy in Cebu, with a focus revitalizing key local industries while addressing lingering challenges in the region.

The 11-member Alyansa slate includes former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.

“As Cebu continues to be an economic powerhouse in the Visayas, Alyansa is committed to tapping its full potential through responsive leadership,” Alyansa campaign manager and Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco said.

Alyansa’s platforms include addressing various challenges in infrastructure, transportation, and disaster-resilience as the region is prone to natural calamities.

Education is also among the coalition’s key priorities, with the aim of preparing a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of Cebu’s booming Business Process Outsourcing and information technology sectors.

Among its plans is the enhancement of Cebu’s tourism appeal, with particular focus on environmental care, including solutions to combat pollution.

Alyansa’s platform addresses climate change resilience, recognizing the particular vulnerability of Cebu’s coastal communities. Their environmental agenda aims to balance economic development with sustainability.

“Alyansa understands Cebu’s challenges require strongly coordinated action across all levels of government, and our coalition is more than prepared to take on the challenges,” Tiangco said.

In preparing to tackle Cebu’s persistent challenges, the administration senatorial candidates commit to champion Cebu’s economic transformation under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s leadership.
