To enhance motoristsโ travel experience, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) will go full electronic for its toll payments effective October 1, 2022.
This means that the remaining CCLEX cash lanes will already be converted into exclusive RFID lanes. CCLEX has a total of 10 toll lanes, four of which presently accepts cash to cater to motorists who have yet to get RFID tags for their vehicles.
โOur transition to full contactless toll payment is aimed at providing a more efficient expressway experience to our road users and afford them ease of travel,โ said Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) President & General Manager Allan G. Alfon.
It was on July 1, 2022 when CCLEC started partially converting some of the expresswayโs toll booths to RFID-enabled lanes.
With three weeks left before the roll out of CCLEXโs full electronic toll collection system, CCLEC encourages motorists who already have RFID to reload their accounts online through the MPT DriveHub, an all-in-one travel companion app.
For motorists still using cash lanes, CCLEC encourages them to switch now to RFID for faster and seamless drive.
RFID Reloading Options
The MPT DriveHub app is available for free in Google Play Store and App Store. Motorists can install it at https://qrco.de/DriveHubPR-1 to easily track their RFID account and reload in real time via debit or credit card, Maya, and other loading services.
Linking the CCLEX RFID account to the app has also been made more convenient and easier as motorists can now scan the QR code on the RFID card to register.
The OTP (One-Time-Pin) verification has also been simplified as it is now sent via text rather than email, for easier and fast sign-up process.
Aside from MPT DriveHub app, motorists can also reload their CCLEX RFID at the CCLEX Customer Service Centers at the Toll Plaza. Itโs open from 6AM to 9PM, Monday to Saturday for the whole month of September 2022.
Walk-In RFID Installation
For those who have no RFID yet, they can schedule their installation by going to cclex.com.ph and clicking on Register.
Walk-ins are also now accepted at the Customer Service Centers conveniently located on both sides near the CCLEX Toll Plaza, and offsite installation stations at Anjo World and Landers Superstore.
CCLEX, now considered the tallest and highest bridgeway structure in the country, is a project of CCLEC, in partnership with the local government units of Cebu City and Municipality of Cordova.
CCLEX, an engineering feat and Cebuโs newest iconic landmark, is seen to not only ease traffic congestion in the metro but also spark socio-economic development in the province, according to a study by the University of San Carlos.
CCLEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of MPTC, the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), a publicly-listed infrastructure holding company and a member of the MVP Group of Companies.
MPTC is the largest toll road concessionaire and operator in the Philippines. The companyโs expansion goals include establishing toll operations in the Visayas, other parts of the Philippines, and in neighboring countries, notably Vietnam, and Indonesia.
