CEBU CITY – Golden Prince Hotel and Suites through its Golden Resource Academy for Career Enhancement (GRACE) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-7) signifying partnership for TESDA’s Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Trainers to experience Industry Immersion as part of continuing development of trainers, teachers and instructors.
“This partnership between TESDA Region VII, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites and GRACE is an opportunity to generate positive impact in the tourism and hospitality sectors here in Cebu and in Central Visayas. With the commitment of our trainers and learners, this will surely create the much-needed ripple effect to further strengthen linkages between academe, government and private sector,” GRACE administrator, Aaron Que said during the signing event.
Golden Prince Hotel & Suites through GRACE has been at the forefront in engaging and conducted technical and vocational courses related to the hospitality sector such as bartending, housekeeping, management services and more with certificates.
These courses offered at GRACE are under the Training for Work Scholarship (TWSP) of TESDA to provide immediate interventions to meet the need for highly critical skills. GRACE wants to build a community of lifelong learners and to fulfill existing jobs for the opportunity of immediate employment, both locally and overseas.
Que said that the TWSP is for those who are interested in most-in-demand jobs in the hospitality and tourism industry such as Bartending NCII, housekeeping NC II-III-IV, culinary arts and more. With GRACE’s accreditation by TESDA as a learning institution partner, “we can deliver skills-based training through NC-II courses.” GRACE has been awarded by TESDA-Region VII the Certificate of TVET Program Registration, he bared.
According to Que, the Hotel’s Academy has participated in various sessions and forums that tackle topics on VocTech education, training and immersions, teaching and many more, in collaboration with TESDA’s various VocTech education partners.
Que revealed that in 2023, the Sales and Marketing team of Golden Prince Hotel & Suites were recently assessed to be COMPETENT in TESDA’s Events Management Services NCIII (National Certificate). GRACE was also recently awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation for being an active partner in DepEd’s Joint Delivery Voucher Program for Senior High School TVL Specialization.
“Our biggest prayer at GRACE for 2024 is to gear towards making a sustainable impact and positive significance in the hospitality and tourism industry through training with various education industry stakeholders,” Que said.
This is GRACE’s mission, to hone individuals to pursue professional growth and personal development. It is committed to embrace the pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. It encourages critical thinking and emphasize the learning process over rote memorization.
GRACE’s sees its role as the key partner of at least 10 learning and government institutions, and the preferred hospitability academy to go for the mentoring of the students, out of school youths (OSY), and those individuals seeking for a job in the hospitality industry.
